Foundation Must Haves- Acne Edition

Hi friends! Sorry for the absence lately. No excuse besides being lazy. But no worries I am back! And I am excited to share today’s post on my favorite foundations!

It’s no secret that I have been suffering from a lingering breakout for a couple of months.. it happened when I switched my birth control and now I am left with really deep scars. Thankfully there aren’t really any active pimples, but the scars are frustrating nonetheless. So I have been experimenting with different foundations lately and I have fallen in love with quite a few! I think it is important to have multiple foundations because some days your skin is acting different and some times you want full coverage vs. light coverage! So these are my current faves!

Up first is a long time fave- Maybeline BB cream. This is a light coverage and very light weight bb cream. I love this one because it has salicylic acid in it which helps fight my breakouts while covering them. As I said, this is light coverage. So not all my blemishes are covered, but it does give me a nice even complexion and all I have to do is add bronzer! Which is my favorite beauty routine at the moment because I am so lazy and want something quick.

My FAVVVVVVV, seriously my favorite. It’s a newer purchase and I am obsessed, is the Hourglass Vanish Stick. I have seen so many beauty gurus rave about this so I had to try it. It’s not even the full coverage part I love (but it is full coverage!)- it’s the finish/glow it provides me with. I have dry skin so I try and avoid matte finishes. This stick gives such an even, hydrated glow but isn’t too dewy looking. It is AMAZING and covers my scars like no other! This is a great everyday foundation because even though it has full coverage, it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin. I have also included the Hourglass primer because it is BOMB.

The foundation I use when I want a dewy glow is the NARS Radiant Long Wear. This is a medium coverage that you can build up to cover the blemish areas.  This is great for ladies with dry skin because it is very hydrating and won’t cause your skin to flake underneath. I like using this with a light setting powder so that I am not too dewy. I prefer using this at night or when I won’t be sweating just because I don’t want to be too glow/dewy. It feels amazing on the skin!

Another good foundation I use on days I feel like switching it up is the Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation. This is completely full coverage! This foundation dries well on the skin and doesn’t require a powder over top. I really love that this foundation can be used as a concealer. So sometimes, I will just use it to cover my pimples, and then use a lighter foundation overtop.

The last foundation I love is the one I have been using the longest, BareMinerals BareSkin. This is medium coverage and has a really nice finish to it. It gives you a pretty shine but without making you appear oily. This can be built up as well and I absolutely love how it feels on the skin! It is so light weight. You barely feel like it is there, which is a huge plus for me.

Let me know if you guys try any of these out! I would love to hear what your fave foundations are!
